Inspiring Thought, Shaping Perspectives

About Me

Through words, I strive to nurture values, inspire thought, and shape perspectives that drive meaningful change…

A Life Rooted in Passion, Growth, and Reflection

I was born in the historic town of Sopore in Kashmir, a place rich in culture and resilience, nestled in the beautiful yet tumultuous state of Jammu & Kashmir. My journey began on November 5, 1961, and from an early age, I was drawn to the intricate relationship between humanity and the environment.

I pursued my Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Ch. Charan Singh University, U.P., graduating in 1984. Soon after, in 1985, I began my professional journey with the Government of Jammu & Kashmir, serving in the Agriculture Production Department and later in the Tourism Department. For over three decades, I worked under diverse capacities, becoming an expert in Landscaping, Agriculture, and Turf Management.

To refine my expertise, I pursued higher studies in Turf Management and Landscaping at the prestigious University of Massachusetts, USA, completing my program in 2013. My career spanned 36 years of dedicated service, during which I contributed significantly to the development and enrichment of landscapes across J&K, leaving a legacy of commitment and innovation. I retired in December 2021, but my passion for growth and creativity continues to thrive.

A Writer with a Purpose

Writing has always been a profound part of my identity. As a freelance writer, I have explored and addressed critical issues that matter most to society. My articles, often featured in leading publications like Greater Kashmir, Kashmir Images, RIsing Kashmir and others, delve into themes such as societal values, environmental challenges, and politics. My aim has always been to inspire thoughtful reflection and meaningful discourse, helping readers see the world through a lens of curiosity and compassion.

Through my words, I seek to foster a deeper understanding of the intersections between culture, governance, and ethics, reflecting the essence of our shared humanity.

Life Post Retirement

Since retiring, I have embraced a fulfilling life surrounded by the things I love most. Gardening remains a source of tranquility and creativity, allowing me to nurture the earth while enjoying its endless beauty. Reading and writing continue to be my intellectual anchors, fueling my curiosity and connecting me with the world of ideas. In my leisure time, I indulge in golf, a sport that challenges my mind and spirit, keeping me grounded and invigorated.

Life, for me, is about continuous growth—whether in the landscapes we create, the ideas we cultivate, or the relationships we cherish.
