Trump’s defeat.

The United Nations unites against US

The thumping UN vote created a new world order of positive thinking and say a big ‘No’ to intimidation.

From the day go Donald Trump as president of United States of America tried to attract world and American people’s attention habitually for wrong reasons. Starting with a team to tread on a path of confrontation of his choice, interestingly after almost a year, his administrative setup appears getting cracks. Out of his White House appointments and cabinet nominations till now he has fired several and others left his team of their own. This speaks a lot about Trump’s working and his mindset. Apart from his controversial domestic policies, Trump ruffled many feathers on foreign policy matters. Meddling with North Korea, and most interestingly having an extra warm leaning towards Israel and outrightly supporting its aggressive policies against Palestinians have brought the US to a situation of military confrontation and isolation.

The latest of President Trump’s pronouncement to shift American embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv did not surprise many but the way world opinion irrespective of affiliations stood rock-solid against Trump’s decision surprised all including US permeant representative at UN—Nikki Haley. Unfortunately, this simple jab proved a catalyst to unite not only the league of Islamic countries—OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) but American allies in Europe and middle east gave a bit of their real mind to Trump led administration in the US. This situation of despair compelled Nikki Haley to say, “The United States will remember this day in which it (US) was singled out in this assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation,”. She further said, “We will remember it when, once again, we are called up to make the world’s largest contribution to the UN, and we will remember it when many countries come calling on us to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit”. This was the most shameful situation Trump and his associates pushed the US, a powerful and influential country into. The hollowness and cheapness of Trump’s demanding and demeaning policies got exposed when his representative in UN while threatening the whole world said, “The United States is by far, the single largest contributor to the United Nations and its agencies…………But I will be honest with you, when we make generous contributions to the UN, we also have a legitimate expectation that our goodwill is recognized and respected………………We have an obligation to demand more for our investment, and if our investment fails, we have an obligation to spend our resources in more productive ways”.

The ego and stubbornness of Trump and his policies have exposed the American position as the world champion of justice and equality; unmasked its false face of human rights and love for mankind.  Nikki Haley’s talk of ‘investments’ at UN and veiled threat to withdraw contributions and ‘goodwill’ to UN, if American legitimate (read dishonest) expectations are not met, can never be the policy of common Americans. But Trump under the influence of ‘white nationalism’, indulgence with ‘economic nationalists’ and a hate for overall immigration has created a unique but embracing situation for every American irrespective of their political ideology. The thumping UN vote created a new world order of positive thinking and say a big ‘No’ to intimidation. This vote rightly negated the Trump and his other Jewish dominated policy maker’s belief that anyone on this planet can be either bought or bullied to the whims and wishes of America. The present situation of isolation, confrontation and all-out failure faced by the US is the manifestation of Trump’s policies and not that of people of America. The presidential system of governance in America with some powers to monitor with US congress make the American president all powerful. Knowing this Trump from the day one went whole hogging to pursue his agenda of unique nationalism that goes totally against the thinking and ideology of a common Americans. Anticipating rot at the hands of Trump American people at the start of Trump’s term had rightly agitated against Trump’s election by shouting at top of their voice across the US— ‘Not my President’. Later, while delivering immigration edicts Trump and his policymakers again faced the American people’s ire as also the US judiciary compelled him to opt for a detour. Anyways, the unequivocal vote and support in UN over Jerusalem issue can be historic but should not be construed as American and its people’s defeat but interpreted as ‘better sense’ that prevailed and whole world opted for a correct support for justice and coexistence. And more precisely it was a Trump defeat!
